WANGARATTA SHOW

It was the Wangaratta show last week. We were very busy with the glitter making firework pictures. That was the best! We also made a class map of the showgrounds. In writing we had to sequence pictures of a bull going to the show and winning the best bull competition. Then we had to write the story. Do pop in and see them in our passageway.

Did you know that a school follows the show around the countryside? It is in the back of a truck, and it looks huge inside. They only have about 25 children, but only one Prep when they were with us. Her name is Jasmin. On Friday she spent the day in our grade with her teacher. We were so proud at all the praise we got from Jasmin's teacher.

AMAZING AUSTRALIAN ANIMALS

We learned all about Australia's amazing animals in Term 3. Anyone who visited our room and the passageway outside our room could not help but notice this. We filled both areas with our art and craft work as well as our report writing all about these wonderful creatures.

Did you know that the Thorny Devil of Central Australia can channel the tiniest droplet of water along the wrinkles in it's skin to its mouth? It makes use of even the lightest morning dews to get a drink.

Did you know that a mother crocodile can carry her babies in her mouth to find water or to escape danger?

Did you know that wombats and koalas are cousins?

Did you know that emus' feathers do not have those hooks that hold them neatly together like other birds? That's why they look so floppy and messy. They look just like a haystack, which is a great disguise.

WANGARATTA WEST'S SCHOOL CONCERT AND THE MUSIC FESTIVAL

We were incredibly proud of our amazing performance at the Wangaratta Schools' Music Festival, and the School Concert. We also put on an extra performance for the wider community. We invited the local Kinders, neighbouring schools and community groups. We just loved performing!

We performed two songs in Japanese which had a spring theme. The first song was about red, yellow and white tulips growing in rows. The second was about cherry blossom, and we had six beautiful girls doing an outstanding fan dance in the middle of this song.

Mrs Salathiel made all our costumes. We looked fabulous!
