Prep K's Excursion to Oz-e Wildlife

Wangaratta West Preps set off on our major excursion to the Oz-e Wildlife Park in Ettamogah. On the way there we spotted another school bus stopped at the side of the road. Our very caring bus driver pulled over to give a hand. They had a flat tyre.

Soon we were back on our way again, but we missed a turn and ended at the Ettamogah Pub. Consequently we had to take the scenic route to the Wildlife Park. We really enjoyed this little detour, the Pub was a very funny building.

At the Wildlife Park we saw all the Australian animals that we have been learning about at school, and we managed to impress everyone with some interesting facts that we loved to share. The first thing we saw was the feeding of the Fairy Penguins. They were so cute! The peacocks were incredibly noisy as they called to each other. The boy peacocks were really showing off as they fanned out their beautiful tail feathers for all to see.

The day was cool and cloudy which was great for waking up many of our nocturnal Australian animals. The koalas were particularly active, though the reptiles were very slow! Feeding the kangaroos was just the best. They were very gentle and loved our pellets.

We had a really wonderful day and must thank Mrs Nyman and Ms Cole for coming to help.
