JUSTIN'S DUCKLINGS

Today Justin brought in two duck eggs that were about to hatch. Justin's Mum brought in an incubator to keep the eggs warm as it was decided not have their Mother Duck in the classroom to do that important job.

It didn't take long before the little ducklings started to chip away at their eggshell with their little egg tooth on their beak. It was very tiring work and the ducklings kept stopping for a rest and a sleep.



We kept checking on the ducklings' progress all day. Soon they were both out. One was yellow and the other was brown. Their feathers were wet at first, but they soon dried off and became nice and fluffy. They were very tired though and spent a lot of time sleeping after they came out of their eggs.
